This new growth initiative will be led by Feerooz Yacoobi, who joins Buchanan Street as vice president. Under this new platform, Buchanan Street plans to deploy $350 to $500 million over the next five years in both self-storage acquisition and development in major markets throughout the western United States.

According to Feerooz, the firm’s focus will be on value-add and core-plus opportunities in the western U.S. trade areas that are experiencing strong population growth.

Prior to joining Buchanan Street, Feerooz served as vice president of real estate with the William Warren Group / StorQuest Self Storage, one of the largest private owner operators of self-storage properties in the country. In this capacity, he was responsible for the acquisition and development of self-storage properties on behalf of both institutional and private investors. Feerooz holds a bachelor’s degree in real estate finance from University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.
