Buchanan Street Partners, a nationally recognized real estate investment firm based in Newport Beach that focuses on making debt and equity investments in commercial and multifamily real estate, has announced the launch of its self-storage investment platform with the hiring of Feerooz Yacoobi.

Feerooz has joined Buchanan as Vice President of Self-Storage. He previously worked at the William Warren Group / StorQuest Self Storage, one of the largest private owner operators of self-storage properties in the country. He holds a bachelor’s degree in real estate finance from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and currently resides in Newport Beach. Out of the office, Feerooz enjoys his weekends wandering Newport peninsula or on camping excursions.

In a short time Yacoobi has already completed a $22 million acquisition of a recently constructed 3-story, 102,450 SF, institutional quality self-storage asset located in Portland, Oregon. “The Portland transaction represented an opportunity to acquire a new Class A facility located in a top 25 MSA. The facility is situated in an extremely dense trade area and has demonstrated an impressive lease up velocity to date,” said Feerooz. “This acquisition is indicative of the varied opportunities that we’re looking for within our greater portfolio.”
